Thousands of schools across the country were closed today due to very heavy snow. It is the most snow I have ever seen fall here - at least 6 inches fell overnight. The kids' school was open but they were very late arriving, partly due to the treacherous roads, and partly because we didn't leave until quite late as they were having so much fun. We knew there wouldn't be much light left after school, so we made snow-balls while the sun was shining but before the snow melted.
