This has not been a great summer so far (wet and cool), but that doesn't stop us from visiting the seaside when we can. The kids love their treasure hunts and Patrick is enjoying teaching them how to skim stones.

Much to Xander's dissappointment, the Mersea beach (the one we visit most often) is too stoney for cricket.

Some pics also of these beached boats which interested us. It looks like they have been grounded, the grass has grown up around them and people have made their homes on them.
