Andalucian adventures

Our trip to Spain was a wonderful chance to get together with the cousins from Aus and to spend some time in the sun.

We spent 2 weeks in a beautiful house in in Andalucian countryside. The house was quite remote and the local village was small, so we got a chance to see the authentic Spain. Not much English was spoken around the area, so Zoe certainly had ample opportunity to practise her Spanish.

Each night we were treated to the most beautiful sunsets which we enjoyed with a glass of wine on the terrace.

The kids were certainly well catered for with our very own kids club called the "Dragons". They had their very own "Dragon's Den" where they practised their plays and just chewed the fat.

They treated us to a wonderful play about Julius Caesar, Augustus, Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, Wilbur the pig and others which was actually very good! A witty script, fabulous actors and hours of practise made it a real hit.

On the terrace on afternoon we were also treated to a wonderful art show, with the kids presenting their work and describing it to us. It was quite a show - a wealth of talent there.

The unofficial highlight of the holiday though, was the Coke and Mentos experiment. For the uninitiated, some details here. It hasd been planned for weeks and then finally towards the end of the second week, we set up the experiment and let it go. It was the most excited I saw the kids all week. Simple things.

During the days we toured Andalucia and visited many places. The Alhambra (in Granada), the Mezquita (in Cordoba) and Ronda's Bullring were especially fabulous places to visit.

More photos soon.
